My name is Youssef. I live in Monastir with my family and our cat, Mimi. Our street is the cleanest street in the neighbourhood, because the neighbours help each other.

Every month, we have a Helping Day. Mr Ali is the oldest neighbour, and he lives alone, so my sister Ines and I carry his shopping. My dad is a builder. He repairs the wall of the old mosque. Mrs Salma is a farmer, and she shares her oranges with poor families.

At school, we care for our classroom too. Tomorrow, we will tidy up the desks and mop the floor. We won’t throw paper on the floor.

At home, I take care of Mimi. I give her food and water twice a day. When she is sick, we take her to the vet. Don’t hit animals: they are our friends!

I like helping other people. At home, I tidy my room and I wash the dishes after dinner. My brother and I take care of our dog, Rex. We give him water twice a day. At school, my friends and I clean the blackboard and collect the paper. Next week, we will plant flowers in the school garden. We won’t leave the classroom dirty. Our neighbour is old, so I carry her bread every morning. We are stronger together!
